PIRTEK is the nation’s leading provider of on-site hydraulic repair for heavy equipment and industrial machines. Pirtek’s basic services include assembly and installation of hoses and actuators for a diverse customer’s base such as manufacturing, construction, marine, energy, utilities, landscape and recycling.
As a PIRTEK Technician you will be working primarily at a PIRTEK Service & Supply Center, supporting end customers and field service technicians (MSST’s) and reporting to the Shop Manager.
This is normally an entry level position. Therefore “Soft” skills are more important than direct technical experience. Showing up every day on time with a desire to learn is a key. Pirtek has an extensive training program for new technicians.

Shop Technician Basic Job Requirements:
Business Operations

- Ability to meet with new and existing customers, discuss problems and offer Pirtek-based solutions
- Advises management on safety and productivity improvements
Technical, After Appropriate Training
- Ability to disassemble, repair, reassemble and test simple fluid power components such as hoses and actuators
- Ability to run Solar or E Mobile software system for work orders, invoicing, customer management, and inventory management
- Ability to make basic measurements and determine proper new seal kits for component rebuilds
- Ability to plumb simple power units from blueprints and/or schematics
- Ability to accurately diagnose location of fluid and air leaks in hoses, lines and other fluid power components on-vehicle
- Ability to accurately identify all hose and end fitting types
- Ability to correctly assemble hose assemblies
- Ability to identify hard line sizes and fittings
- Ability to correctly bend and assemble hard line assemblies
- Ability to do machining and brazing operations
- Maintains proper shop stock levels
- Maintain basic shop cleanliness requirements
- Maintain minimal scrap, quality / warranty returns for all shop operations
- Ability to accurately review work orders before submitting for invoicing
Miscellaneous
- Basic Microsoft Office software skills a plus
- Able to create or modify simple but effective written work instructions as required for all of the above
